The CLASSES

Pilates & THE TOWER

Welcome to the wonderful body-changing world of the Tower. The Tower is an elevated mat attached to a series of springs, bars, and handles, which allow you to move the body in any number of directions, up and down, in and out, back to front, and side to side. As a client of HSF, you will work on your own Tower unit under the eye of our incredibly diligent instructors. Personal attention for the cost of a class.

Our instructors are classically trained, with at least 600 hours of education and 5 years of experience before they teach at Henry Street Fitness. Since many of our clients have been with us for years and are advanced, our classes are leveled so that everyone can get the best workout and consistently be pushed to the next level.

If you are new to Pilates, the Tower unit, or HSF, you must start with a beginner or open level class. If you are previous experience elsewhere, you still must start with an open level class.

Please note: Intermediate level classes are for clients who have had at least 15 classes and know how to set up the Tower unit, use the leg and arm springs, attach the push through bar and work with the roll back bar. If you are not sure where you belong, sign up for an open level class and ask the teacher after class if you are ready for intermediate classes.

Pilates & WEIGHTLIFTING: THE FULL 60

Weight lifting at least twice a week is essential as you get older. And now you can do it at HSF. Lift with us in our new 60 MINUTE classes. 30 minutes of our signature Pilates followed by 30 minutes of weight lifting. We work the major muscle groups of your arms, chest, shoulders, back, butt and legs. No sweeps or burpees to be found, anywhere.

Simple, no frills, weight-lifting done safely with the intense focus on form and alignment that you have come to expect from our Pilates.

LINE-DANCING AT THE COBBLE HILL BALLET STUDIO

Welcome to Stomp & Slide! The new line-dancing class from Henry Street Fitness taught by our very own cowgirl-in-residence, Jamie Graham! Been obsessed with mastering Dasha's moves in her song Austin? Feel the need to ignore the news and dance around in search of joy? We got you covered. Stomp & Slide with us!

We do popular line dances that do not require partners like Boot Scootin' Boogie, Cowboy Hustle and Electric Slide. We are dancing through the 10 most popular line-dances. The classes are so in demand, we had to move to a bigger venue right after the first class. It is definitely a workout, but a seriously fun one.

Classes are held at:
Cobble Hill Ballet
232 Carroll Street

  • No shoes in the ballet studio

  • Cowboy hats will be provided

  • Country Western garb appreciated
